The Passion of Christ (Sordevolo)
The Passion of Christ is a theatrical representation in archaic verses accompanied by solemn music; it has been performed as a popular play for over two hundred years, every five years, by the population of Sordevolo, a Piedmontese municipality
It narrates what can be considered the central moment of Christianity – that is, the Passion of Jesus Christ – and is certainly one of the most articulated choral shows set up in Italy.
It is played by amateur actors of all ages
